HEAVY Victorian ANTIQUE French 27g 18k Gold Solid Curb Chain Watch Necklace Extender Bracelet 1800s Hallmark

ABOUT:

Antique Victorian watch chain that I got in France with Heavy 18k solid gold curb links. Really quality hand feel to this one. Glowing warm, buttery and rosy, rich antique yellow gold from age and patina. This delicious sought after hue is special because it can't be found on modern gold.

Also making this one special are the Victorian era hallmarks used primarily in the 1800s and discontinued by the very early 1900s.

In addition to that is the quality. We often find these chains as folded gold soldered together to create a link with hollow space in between. This one is solid all the way through for each link in 18k gold giving it a very sturdy / heavy hand feel of 27 grams. The links graduate slightly in size being largest at the center and tapering just slightly towards the ends. Really exceptional quality.

Note the short length of 12 1/8 inch. It does not fit me as a necklace but I can wrap it double as a bracelet, or connect it to another watch chain as a necklace, or add a dog clip or decorative extender for wear as a choker or layering chain. Always a lot of options these days with connectors / extenders in a neckmess / neckstack. Please double check the measurements as to how it would wear on you as we all come in wonderfully different shapes and sizes.

French antique hallmark for 18k on the loop. One of the chain links is also stamped as was customary for the period.

Antique boxes / items in displays in photos are not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs a very sturdy 26.6g. Stretched end to end it's 12 1/8 inches long. The links taper slightly from 5.8mm to 4.8mm towards the ends.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Slightly different patina on the spring ring but really exceptional quality.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
