HEXAGON Kite Cut Shield Panel Vintage Purple AMETHYST Ring 9k Gold Rectangular Cut Shoulders Vintage

A unique and fun purple amethyst in a kite / hexagon cut. There are additional little rectangular cut amethyst set into each shoulder as well. The geometry of the piece with the unique cut really drew me to this vintage piece. The facets on the hexagon stone are diamond shaped and domed towards the center like a rose cut method, but with the unique kite shape.

Vintage piece - not sure how old it is, clearly has some age to it but don't think it is antique. Found in the UK, stamped 9CT for 9k gold. It's lower carat than I usually carry but it's so rad! And as a result more durable. Prongs in excellent shape so it's ready for regular wear.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4.

The amethyst is 12x7mm. The ring stands 5.5mm tall off the finger.
The ring weight is 2 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The amethyst has a wonderful sheen and polish with a gorgeous color and the awesome diamond shaped faceting, adding to the hexagon shape. While there is not a lot of surface wear there are chips to the pointed north and south end with a small flake of loss to one end extending from the tip. The stone also has some natural inclusions that can catch the light making them more apparent than in ambient light. With normal wear, the kite / hexagon shape is complete, but you can see the unpolished area if you are looking for it at the two tips. Shank and inside the ring face is a bit blunt.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
