ABOUT:
Personal collection release - imperial topaz are up there with my favorite gems with that wonderful peachy color. This is an antique one with a scalloped halo of creamy pearls. The topaz is an old cut which I loved to see.
I purchased this in Sweden. I had thought to some day convert it to a charm as I thought it would be a pretty little necklace or bracelet pendant but haven't gotten around to it. It would also make a pretty little ring! Wearable as is as a stick pin as well.
No hallmarks remain, the pin post is 18k and the cluster head is 14k. You can see where the post and bracket were soldered to the back so perhaps this one has already been converted.
The stopper is gold fill / not real gold but I'm including it just in case anyone has a use for it.
Antique boxes, chains, props in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The pin face is 9.7mm in diameter. The piece without the metal stopper weighs 1.1 grams.
It measures 50mm long .
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As mentioned there is solder to the back. Some patina to the pearls but the stones are in great condition. The stone isn't frosty, it just has a bit of dust speckling to the back. A gentle clean would do it, I just didn't want to soak it with the pearls but it looks worse in pics than it is. Excellent condition. That's the nice thing about pins, always more gently worn and in great condition for age.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
My disclaimer with all my pieces - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
