LADYBUG Garnet Rose Cut DIAMOND French Antique Figural Ring 18k Gold Good Luck Gift Lucky Stacker Figural Bug

Such a fun one! Whimsical French antique ring in 18k gold with a 3D figural Ladybug perched atop the finger. The body of the ladybug is crafted from a glossy cabochon garnet gemstone with a seam engraved down the center to show the two wings of the body. A little applied silver bezel across the top is set with three petite rose cut diamonds for a glint of sparkle, leading up to the silver head with two little dots for eyes. The underside of the body with the little legs is again in gold, along with the shank so only the little applied details are in silver.

Antique piece that I acquired in France, where ladybugs are considered a symbol of good luck. The gold shank has a wonderful, rich and warm antique patina.

HALLMARKS:
No hallmarks remain which is common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics. Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/4. The ladybug is 12x8mm, and 6mm off the finger. The piece weighs 3.8g.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Natural inclusions to the garnet that can catch the light. They do carry up to the surface leaving a hairline crazing line across the body. This is mostly seen under magnification, I can't see it with my eyes and the stone is stable, we'd just typically avoid using heat around it so it would probably be beneficial to find a local jeweler with a laser for sizing if desired, as opposed to using a torch. It is sturdy, stable and wearable as is. Typical antique rose cuts, very small glints of sparkle with rough edges and uneven cuts, warm hues from the closed back, etc.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
