ABOUT:

Love the color to these antique garnets - this Georgian era pendant is set with flat cut and rose cut and cabochon teardrop garnets in cut down collets. Gorgeous varying colors of pinkish purplish to crimson red, but all still nicely matching. The color is like a juicy berry or fine wine. Set with foil back settings to really glow and reflect the light from within.

The pin back a later addition, this one was always a pendant but someone in its antiquity wanted to make it wearable as a brooch as well. May have been a component of a larger piece, even though it is quite substantial alone, as there is a loop down at the bottom to potentially hold an additional dangle.

The pin parts could easily be clipped off so it is back to permanently being a pendant if desired, but I didn't want to remove in case someone liked the versatility of its double duty.

No hallmarks remain but all parts test as 10k - the domed gold backs, the loop and jump ring and the pin parts.

MEASUREMENTS:
The pendant is 36x32mm not including the jump ring. The pendant weighs 5.15 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
One of the smaller pears and one of the smallest circular stones is cracked but both sides of the stone are still held in the bezel. Som adhesive residue around several stones seen mostly under magnification. It is over 200 years old. To the eye it is quite tidy and beautiful with wonderful colors and an awesome glow.
Some nicks and scuffs to a few of the stones. Some varying hues to the stones and from age to the foil back, a few spots under lit magnification but a beautiful piece with glowing red color.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Thanks so much for looking at my items!
