ABOUT:
A buff top natural ruby with a pretty juicy berry hue. This one is uniquely set with lion paws at each shoulder reaching up to the claw prongs that prop up the stone. Nice and chunky ring face. Awesome long pointed claws with fur texture as well. Statement piece alone or adds interest to a ring stack. Could be considered unisex as well as ruby rings were quite popular for men during the period.
It has a maker's mark inside but no gold purity stamp but tests at 10k gold.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 7. It weighs 4.2 grams.
The ring face is 9.3mm north south and It stands 4.5mm off the finger. The ruby is 7x6mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The ruby is a buff top which means it's smooth and faceted on the underside while the top is like a cabochon. Some natural inclusions. While it still retains a sheen and polish and a beautiful glow and color, there are some deeper scratches and abrasions which can catch the light. Fortunately the stone is not dull and the setting is awesome. Some of what you see in the pics are inclusions so you'll want to look at the side angle photos that catch the surface in a reflection to detect the abrasions.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
