ABOUT:
So much to love about this one. Super unique piece with the old mine cut marquise shaped diamond set east to west in the setting (see stone notes below). The filigree work of the ring face ornately accents the gold leading up to the prong set center stone. With additional old cut diamonds at each shoulder for additional sparkle.
I have not had a design like this before and of course old cut diamonds are already in limited supply and uncommon. Combine that with the rare old cut marquise shape and it's quite unusual. The center stone also has that delicious warmth that we love to find in our old cuts.
Found in Paris, France with their hallmark for 18k gold and French goldsmith stamp.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/2
Weight 2.2g
The ring face is 5.5mm north south and stands about 5.9mm tall off the finger.
The diamond is 6.5x3.5mm. The six additional old cuts are small for a glint of sparkle.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The center stone has a chip to one end and a frosty flake of loss to the underside. It's not super glaring while wearing as it is somewhat hidden in the setting but please utilize the zoomed photos which will highlight this much more than with normal wear. The one side comes to a point and the opposite side with the chipped tip appears a bit more rounded. I'm selling it at my cost because I didn't even notice the chip when I bought it, that's how not glaring it is, but being that it is imperfect, I have priced it accordingly at break even for me.
The center stone is crystal clear and exceptional when it comes to clarity and comes in my favorite color!
Lovely slight warmth to the stone typical for antique diamonds that came from mines during a period that produced warmer rough. Some frosty bits to the side stones under magnification only. Shank is a bit thin at the back from age and wear but certainly stable and still sizable. A bit of wear to one prong but the stone is very stable.
Please also note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
