ABOUT:

I love the drama of a navette but this one has the added perk of a center greenish yellow old mine cut diamond. I love old cut diamonds with hues so I am always seeking them out! There are two other stones in the ring that are also pale yellow in color but the center is larger and stands out in direct light especially.

The ring also has a wonderful cobblestone texture, with the chunky old cuts and their high crowns cropping out of the ring face, which totals around 1.2 carats in old cut diamonds.

As an added detail, there are six gemset prongs or diamond spacers, where the little areas between the larger stones are also set with little diamonds to completely encrust the ring face. Most of these are rose cuts with one tiny single cut.

Crafted in rosy antique 18k gold (tested.)

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 1/4
Weight: 3.5g
Ring face north south measurement: 18mm by 10mm east west
Height off the finger: 5mm.

The center old mine cut diamond measures 3.5mm and the other OMCs are 2 to 2.7mm each with varying depths for a total carat weight of around 1.2 carats including the six little gemset prongs / diamond spacers. This is an estimation as I would not remove the stones from the setting for exact measurements.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some worn prongs to keep an eye on over time especially around the outside edge. This is typical for age and could be reinforced for daily wear by your local jeweler if desired (you'd want to find someone with a laser welder and ask them to do the minimum possible vs. re-tipping every prong and unnecessarily over working the piece to make it "like new"). Most of my buyers prefer original condition and special occasion wear.

Typical old hand cut diamonds with some faint natural inclusions that are very slightly eye visible if you are looking for them to seek them out, but seen more under magnification. No dark or glaring carbon spots. Also typical that they have some slightly varying warm hues, with the few yellow ones as mentioned, which were often chosen intentionally during this period and are even sought after by many collectors, myself included.

A few nibbles to the girdle edges but no glaring damage to any stones, no large chips or cracks.

The yellow diamonds seems to vary in hue based on the lighting. They aren't a vibrant "fancy" yellow but the center really lights up to be noticeable greenish yellow especially in direct sunlight while the smaller ones appear more warm. In ambient light, they read more as a few stones with a slight warmth while wearing. They do not all match which gives the piece a great organic antique vibe as jewelers of the time used whatever stones they had available to them. Of course this was long before the millions of modern machine cut diamonds that are produced each year now.

Hopefully the photos in all lighting conditions help accurately represent how the hues can be subtle and then light up. : )

A wonderful chunky sparkle with plenty of fun and unique attributes to this one!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
