ABOUT:

Another one with geometry and stackability with a mix of old cut diamonds. This wide band props up the old cut diamonds in a rectangular platform with flat north south edges perfect for layering with other pieces. Lovely cobblestone texture.

This one is two tone with the ring face topped in platinum as was customary to set diamonds in a white metal.

Sturdy all the way around. At the center is the largest old mine cut diamond and then it has 4 rose cut diamonds on each side to create the nine stone sparkle.

Found in France with their hallmarks for 18k gold and platinum.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 5 1/4, a little over.
4.8mm north south by 2.3mm tall off the finger. The platform face is 12mm wide.
The piece weighs a sturdy 4.4grams.
The center diamond is a 3.5mm old mine cut measuring. The eight other rose cut diamonds are about 1.7mm each give or take.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The old mine cut has some frosty icy inclusions that are slightly eye visible as it is not a huge stone. The rose cuts are also typical for the period, with 3 or 4 appearing quite frosty throughout. They also have rough edges, non-uniform shapes, etc. like many of the small rough cuts from the period. Some it may have always been that way but one end stone is chipped with loss at an angle to about 1/4 of the stone, this is eye visible but it still mostly fill the space. Some warmth to the stones, some of this is from the way the rose cuts reflect the light a bit differently. Lovely texture and great stackability.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
