Ostby Barton Victorian Wedding Ring 6.7mm Wide Cigar Band Antique 10k Gold Solid Eternity Stacker Romantic Gift Swirl Titanic

ABOUT:

Romantic Wedding Band with high and low relief designs stamped all the way around. Wide and smooth cigar band fit. Warm rosy gold patina. The piece has high shine areas above a pebble textured background that gives the low relief areas a matte finish. These are always popular but this one has the added benefit of being made for an hallmarked by Ostby Barton.

Ostby & Barton company was established in 1879 making their pieces interesting and collectible in their own right for their beautiful craftsmanship. But further interest in these pieces is due to the fact that the co-owner of the company, Ostby sadly perished on the Titanic, making it appealing to collectors in that area as well.

It has the OB hallmark with 10k at the center.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size: 6 3/4 on a mandrel but fits a bit more snugly due to width.
Weight: 2 grams
north south measurement: 6.7mm

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Some patina in the recesses but no damage, never sized, no real issues. Bit of a blunt edge as it's a flat cigar band but just how it was made.  It has a light weight hand feel, these stamped ones always do.

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
