ABOUT:
This is a timeless and attention grabbing one. Vintage wide band with domed gold work leading up to a bezel set oval diamond measuring just over 1 full carat. I love the way it is situated east west. I usually deal in older pieces but just loved the look of this one along with its exceptional sparkle so I thought it would be fun to have in my web shop.
Beautiful glowing gold patina with rosy highlights on the outside. It has the numerical hallmarks used in Europe, in this case 750 for 18k gold and I believe Finland country marks. It has a nice height, it is substantial enough to wear alone and also layers well with other pieces. The place I purchased it from rated the diamond at K/L in color and SI2 in clarity.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4 and it weighs 4.95 grams. The diamond is about 8x6mm (exact measurements in the bezel are unknown as I did not remove the stone). The ring face is 5.8mm north south and stands 4mm tall off the finger in the raised bezel. At the domed shoulders it is about 2mm tall.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The stone moves in the bezel and can click when you tap it. The girdle edge is not visible anywhere so it does not appear in danger of falling out but perhaps this is something a goldsmith could tighten? Some surface wear and scuffs to the gold, but there are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings. No nicks or chips to the diamond whatsoever. Ratings are above and it has a really nice sparkly fire, but has a slight warmth under magnification and an area of natural inclusions that appear like frosty and gray specks.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
