Somebody stop me. Two things I love - pansy / floral designs and padlocks. Would you believe this is the only padlock I have? It was on my wish list for years, I found my perfect one and now I'm releasing it. So I guess garnet padlock goes back on the wish list again! I'm releasing it because I have some Perpignan garnets and a big chunker with an applied diamond fly so I am regretfully parting with this special, juicy beast.

No wait... maybe I should keeeeeeep.... no. Nope! No. She is for sale.

Victorian antique figural padlock pendant crafted in 14k gold with juicy custom cut ripe raspberry garnets mostly rose red in hue with some pinkish glows. It really shines from within. Smooth back which could be engraved or personalized. The clasp as a push lever on the left to open and close tightly with a snap so it can be run on a chain, or it can hold two ends of a chain to serve as a large bracelet or necklace connector / clasp.

Really wonderful color, sheen and shine. Antique jewelry collectors love these so they are getting harder and harder to find!

Found in Texas at an antique market. No hallmarks tests at 14k and the garnets are in silver collet settings. Really nice condition, lovely to find with no heavy abrasions.

Antique boxes, props, extras, etc are not included. Listing is for the one piece shown in the cover photo. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to determine scale from pics.

MEASUREMENTS:
35x23x9.5mm deep. It weighs a sturdy 8.2 grams. the garnet flower is about 21mm.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Natural inclusions that catch the light in bright direct light. Amazing glow and sheen overall. Some where the inclusions carry up to the surface leaving a tall natural crazing line but all stones are stable. Some surface wear but appears better than most. A few of the stones move and click in the bezel settings but all are well held and the latch is very secure, closing strongly with a click.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : )
