Another reluctant release - what antique jewelry collector doesn't love uniquely cut antique diamonds!?
Beautiful French Art Deco geometric pendant or charm with an old cut pentagon shaped / kite or lozenge diamond. The diamond is small but incredibly special, the star of the show, encased in an 18k white gold bezel. It is surrounded by custom cut synthetic rubies to provide the partial halo. Makes a unique little drop pendant or charm with the striking sparkle, pop of pink color and shape.
In all my years of selling I have only ever found one other diamond with this shape a few years back. Today I am listing two which I purchased from the same collector in France. Both were antique stick pins with French hallmarks for 18k gold on the pin posts which were removed. I typically shy away from altering antiques but as stick pins are no longer worn daily by most, I converted it to a pendant to make it more versatile.
Chain/ props / other items not included. Please note the measurements as it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Feel free to request more photos as I have many others besides those allotted here.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The pendant measures 12.5m to the attached loop not including jump ring by 7.7mm wide. The diamond is about 6mm north south.
The piece weighs just 0.9 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamond is eye clean and the piece has zero damage, having been a stick pin in the Art Deco period and very lightly worn. Special piece, one I am happy to keep in my collection as it is so unique.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
