Gorgeous texture to the gold work on these roaring lion clip on earrings. These sturdy earrings show a lion head in profile with open mouth and flowing main - exceptional glow and wonderful detail. A very fine example of French antique Belle Epoque jewelry, the 18k gold with a satin texture, just beautiful fabrication.

The clip backs are nice and sturdy making them ready for wear for pierced or unpierced ears. The fabrication is such that they also have a little loop to the back so they could also quite easily be converted (or even worn as is) on a chain as a bracelet charm or pendant.

Found in Paris with the French hallmarks for 18k gold. Very sturdy hand feel weighing 8.8 grams.

Please note the exact measurements which are specified below as many people seem to expect hoops to be larger due to the zoomed in pictures I am required to show. Some of my buyers use the measurements to draw it out for scale.

Antique box not included. Again - Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

They measure about 15.5mm in diameter. Combined weight is 8.8 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

No damage or imperfections detectable. Strong springy clip backs. Lovely patina and amazing glow. Still super legible. These are pretty awesome.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
