ABOUT:
Such a sweet little design and movement. This one adds an ornate element to a ring stack.
French antique piece from the turn of the century c1900 crafted in 18k gold. At the center is a rose cut diamond and each of the little swirl details extending from the center is also set with a little rose cut. All the diamonds are in open back settings for a little glint of sparkle.
French hallmarks for 18k gold at the back with goldsmith stamp.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/2
The ring face is 11.7mm north south.
The ring weight is 1.9 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique rose cuts, they are little rough cut disks but they are small so they have always been this way, meant to add a glint of sparkle. They appear a bit cloudy, mostly from buildup to the back because the openings behind the stones are so small, it is hard to clean. Could use a further gentle soak. Shank is a bit worn thin at the back but still stable to wear.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely sparkle, but it also highlights the warmth and inclusions, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) These pieces were intended to be viewed by fireside and candlelight so they exude a beautiful antique sparkle. Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
