RUBY Hinged Bangle 18k Gold Engraved Sides Square Carre Cut Linear Bracelet Red Pink French Antique

ABOUT:
A French antique ruby bangle from the early 1900s. Perfect for a petite wrist so I'll be wearing it this holiday season! Offered in excellent condition with sturdy channel set carre cut rubies. The glowing gold work is hand engraved on each side for an added design element.

In really exceptional condition for an early 1900s piece. The stones show little to no wear so the piece was hardly worn. The clasp functions and clicks securely.

I assume the rubies are synthetic, a popular choice for the period, due to their vibrant color and clarity. Certainly adds to the piece being a material we'd appropriately expect to find and with such wonderful pinkish red coloring. Adds a wonderful pop of color to a wrist stack.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k on the insert of the clasp.

Any props or Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
The bracelet is a perfect circle measuring 50mm in diameter across the center. A tape measure wrapped around the outside is 7 inches so the inside circumference will be smaller.
I have a 5.5 inch wrist and it fits me well. I can wear it higher or lower on the wrist and it can't come off without opening it. Because it is a circle and wrist shapes are often more oval, there is space on my wrist above my hand and below the inside of my wrist, but since my wrist is wider than it is deep, there is little to no space on the right and left sides of my wrist. It could fit a slightly larger wrist than mine but with the circular shape, it could be tight on the sides so would probably still recommend it on a wrist under 6 inches.

It weighs 10.9 grams. 3.3mm north south and 3.8mm tall / deep off the wrist.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

In better than most condition. Some varying hues to the rubies under lit magnification. I don't see any bad abrasions or cracks. The engraving is still very legible. Still well shaped and the clasp is secure.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
