RUBY Old Mine Rose Cut DIAMOND French Belle Epoque Antique TIARA Ring 18k Gold Scroll Swirl Stacker

ABOUT:

Ornate and wonderful French antique Duchess / Tiara ring in 18k with two old mine cut diamonds and a ruby raised in a dramatic swirling setting above the curved shoulders which are encrusted with additional old rose cut diamonds. I love seeing mixes of old cut diamonds on the same piece. Great texture and sparkle.

This stacks so beautifully as it can be worn facing either direction and wonderful sparkle, it adds a beautiful sculptural drama. It stacks with bands or can nest in with solitaires as seen in the picture.

French hallmark for 18k gold, the shank has a beautiful warm antique patina. I assume the ruby is synthetic (with no claims otherwise), is it was a very popular choice of the period and has a vibrant color.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 3/4.

The ring face is 8.8mm north south and stands 4mm off the finger. Each of the larger stones is about 2.5 to 3mm.
The ring weight is 2.8 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions, one appearing a bit warm and slightly frosty. The rose cuts are also typical with some frosty spots. Nice long prongs to the main stones which is excellent to find on a piece of this age.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
