RUBY Pink Floral GARLAND Rose Cut DIAMOND Halo French Antique Ring 18k Gold Forget Me Not Ring Art Belle Epoque

ABOUT:

Unique piece with striking coloring and gorgeous design - French 18k gold ring with a center ruby surrounded by a halo of rose cut diamonds which is then surrounded by a figural laurel leaf and floral garland design. The garland has roses on the north and south ends, flanked by little forget me not flowers extending to the laurel leaves. Buttery gold patina and the most lovely pink coloring to the ruby with the glints of sparkle from the rose cut diamonds.

The ruby has such a pretty, rich pink color. It appears to be synthetic and I am selling it as such, looking at the clarity and vibrant colors. Synthetic corundums were actually even more sought after and popular during this period than natural stones - they were all the rage : ).

This is an antique piece that I acquired in France from the Belle Epoque period. This is a more uncommon one with the two tone coloring and all the layers to the design, it has a beautiful color and patina. Beautiful form and movement to this garland halo setting.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

HALLMARKS:
French antique hallmarks for 18k gold, it is mostly worn but I can make out part of it as I have seen them so many times.

MEASUREMENTS:

Currently measures a snug size 7. Weighs 2.85 grams. The ruby is about 8.2x6.3mm and the ring face is 18x15mm and 4.7mm off the finger.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique rose cuts, they are little discs with just three facets, they are small and meant to add a glint of sparkle. They have some inclusions and frosty spots, some may have always been that way. Some of what is seen is due to the small openings behind the diamonds having some build up, making them difficult to clean so it could use another soak and gentle clean.

Just a few nibbles to the ruby facets but an overall lovely sheen and polish and amazing color. Some Surface wear from use and wear to the gold band commensurate with age. A bit of a blunt edge on the inside of the ring face. This one wears so beautifully!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
