RUBY Rose Cut DIAMONDS French Antique 18k Gold Silver Ladies Chatelaine Pocket Watch Case Pendant

Color AND Sparkle! This striking French Victorian era antique pocket watch case would make the most beautiful pendant for your #neckmess or #neckstack. Crafted in 18k gold, it is decorated with a bullseye halo design holding 29 natural rubies and 13 rose cut diamonds. Even the little scalloped bale is ruby encrusted. The piece is topped in silver on the cover and on the top of the bale while the rest of the piece is in warm antique 18k gold.

Note that the inside watch mechanism does not work. I do not know what it would take to repair it so I am selling it as is with no guarantees as to the watch - As is, the watch could be removed to wear the piece as a shaker locket, or worn as an amazing pendant with the clock facing the back.

Found in Paris. It is hallmarked with the French hallmark for 18k gold inside and there is a worn stamp on the neck as well. There is an old serial number stamped inside the middle gold cover.

Chain/props /other times in photos not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
Weight: 15.6 grams, it has a sturdy hand feel from the watch mechanism inside.
The piece is 39 mm to the top of the bale by 12 mm wide and 12mm deep.
The smaller stones stones are 2-2.5mm each and the larger center stones are 3.5 to 4mm each.

IMPORTANT CONDITION DETAILS:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition considering age. As mentioned the watch mechanism is inside and does not work and I can't guarantee that it will because I don't know anything about antique pocket watch repair. I am selling it as a pendant. These always need gentler wear due to the many many stones set into the antique setting and all the hinges and glass.

The stones show plenty of signs of age. All the rose cuts are frosty, warm and have inclusions. There are some nicks to the stones. Natural inclusions. The rubies don't all quite match but they all test as gems and none are glass or paste. None of the settings appear to be repaired so it's likely the jeweler just used the stones available to them as supplies were much more limited in those days. Typical antique rose cuts with rough edges, small nibbles and frosty spots, most all with warm hues although the setting is opened back in that you can carefully clean the back of the gems when you open the watch case. As far as the inclusions and rough cuts, some of this may have always been that way. The piece has a moody vibe and an antique look.

A few shallow impressions to the rim that look like a ripple here or there when viewed from the side.
