Semainier RING 18k GOLD 7 Textured Skinny Bands = 1 Wide Band Warm Yellow Stacker Romantic Gift Love Seven Days of Week

ABOUT:

Awesome antique stacking ring in warm 18k yellow gold with 7 bands connected by a gold strap, each with a different textured pattern on the band - plain, zigzag, wavy etc. So it wears like a wide band stacker or wedding ring made up of the smaller skinny bands. This style of jewelry is called the "Semainier" which is French for "weekly". Each of the 7 skinny bands represents a day of the week - time passing day by day or even love "every day of the week."

I am not sure how old this one is. It is definitely at least vintage, but may be older into the antique period as this style has been around a long time and very popular in France.

The gold strap provides space for the bands to splay and widen for a great stackable look. The strap on the back holds the 7 bands together but is not connected to the ring, it can slide and move independently around the back of the shank so it can also be worn as a design element at the front. It could even be removed to separate the 7 bands to mix and match how you please.

Found in France, it looks like there is a hallmark strike on the smooth band but it is not decipherable to me. Sold to me as 18k which is the standard in France and tested to confirm.

Antique box not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Measures about a 7 1/2 in the middle of the wide band on my ring sizer mandrel. With the bands all pressed together it measures 7.2mm wide. It weighs 4 grams.

CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Some surface wear and organic wear from age expected for antique pieces, but no major issues while wearing. Nicely shaped, great patina. But with all my items - Please note this is not a mint condition item.
