ABOUT:
This was a pick by Mr. Mouse. We love it for the uncommon and striking design, but also for the natural sapphires which were custom cut in trapezoid and kite / coffin shapes to nest perfectly into the ring face and splay out from the center bezel set old mine cut diamond.

The center stone is a nice and chunky cut with a glorious eye clean clarity. Then you have the unique sapphires and then a further halo of little rose cut diamonds to add a glint of sparkle to the outline.

Important note - the sapphires are in better than most condition for age. I just noticed as I was studying it for the listing that while I had cleaned the back well, there was buildup around the stones on the front side. This may appear in some of the pics or videos but in actuality that has all cleaned. See the close ups to view the wonderful polish to the stones, they are not scuffed or with a matte finish from abrasions like many from the period can be. The ring is excellent.

Found in Paris. It has the French stamp for 18k gold and partial goldsmith stamp. All original antique Belle Epoque piece offered in great condition with such a unique and lovely design.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 6 3/4. It weighs 4 grams.
The ring face is 15x12mm and 5.5mm off the finger.

The diamond is about 4.5mm, but a chunky one measuring about 0.45 carat alone. I would never remove it from the antique setting for exact weight and I'm not sure how to measure the sapphires with their unique shapes. There are 20 little rose cuts measuring 1.2 to 2.2mm each adding to that carat weight.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is one sapphire with a small nibble to the table facet edge, not seen by the eye at all. With normal wear and perusing it appears in better than most condition with the sapphires displaying a better than most sheen and polish for age with none of the stones abraided. The center diamond is also excellent. Eye clean, no damage. It displays a warmth in some light appearing almost champagne in color but it seems to be its setting because under magnification it appears more warm than light brown. Some natural inclusions to the sapphires under magnification but all a beautiful blue. The rose cuts are the typical smaller rough cut stones which have irregular shapes and faceting, some frosty spots and uneven edges. One of the smaller ones has a chip to one edge seen under magnification. Some of what is seen is due to buildup behind the rose cuts because of the small openings being difficult to clean and I always clean gently on these old piece with the small accent stones. The largest center diamond and the sapphires however are as sturdy as can be.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
