Time for Mouse to clean out her jewelry house (box)! Working on a big stock drop of ALL personal collection releases so I hope you like what I like! : )
Meanwhile... Sorrows, tears, sorrows, tears... - I still love each and every one of these, but I just don't get around to wearing them all enough and we have other needs right now so I'm hoping to re-home them where they can be loved and enjoyed. : )
I also try to keep my PC pretty humble so as I add things throughout the years, every so often I do a big clear out and these are some of my all time faves - figurals, some with secrets, dates, all have meaning to me so they will be sent to the buyer with all my love and joy and happy memories : )

ABOUT:

Animal jewelry! Dated jewelry! One of a kind-ness... this one has it all. I sure wish I knew the stories it could tell. This Handsome boy is actually a two for one the neck to head, along with the tail of the ring that coils around the front is from 1856. We know there because there is a lovely personalization under the head: "AF to JL 1856", probably given as a love token. However at each shoulder we can see seams where another band was married to the piece - a little floral one with forget me not or orange blossoms around the back. I wonder if the original snake ring had some hair work that deteriorated and another antique gold band or someone's wedding band, was used to stand in as the shank. The shank is comfortable and smooth like a donut shape now, with vacant areas inside though.

I love the ornate engravings on his head and tail and his date so we can celebrate his 169th birthday this year :). Certainly a one of a kind piece. He's fun to stack to add some whimsy.

It came to me this way and I found it quite interesting to get the floral eternity with a snake head. It was a little loosey goosey so my jeweler did a little weld and blend to tack the two together in several places to make it more wearable. I love the engravings on his head and the garnet eyes, along with the way his head tips upward to look at you. : )

No hallmarks remain but tests at 14k gold with some 10k gold spots.

Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 1/2

The ring face is about 9.7mm north south. It stands off the finger at 3.8mm. Weight is 1.86 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

You can see some gaps at the seams in spots where the two shanks were not connected. Not super evident while on the hand but when you view the piece from the side. I always ask my jeweler to do the minimum possible to make it wearable without muddying or overworking the piece and he is certainly wearable now. Just recommend gentler wear due to age, and with the vacant spaces between the two. You can see the seams at the shoulder. The garnet eyes have abrasions. And he is beautiful. Especially considering his age of 169 years. What a life he has lived.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
