SNAKES Heavy Antique Pendant Watch Fob Strap 13g 18k Gold Solid Large Chatelaine Ornament Figural Double Heads Mesh with Dog Clip for Bracelet?

I take regularly scheduled inventory trips to Europe to offer you a selection of carefully curated antiques. These have all been hand picked one at a time and most are one of a kind.

Here is another personal collection release. Oh you guys, I always have so many grand plans! But as a one woman show, there are some things I just don't get around to. Case in point -

I've had this figural double snake watch fob for years. It's already wearable as a pendant and looks pretty fab if you ask me, but when I saw it, I immediately envisioned it as a bracelet with the mesh wide strap and snake heads curving atop the wrist. All it really needs is a loop under their Chinny chin chins and a few links for the appropriate length for it to become the raddest bracelet.

Right now it's a watch fob or perhaps a chatelaine ornament that can be worn as a pendant, with only the dog clip on one end (valuable antique part in its own right), but I showed it in photos how it would look as a bracelet.  If you did go ahead and work with a jeweler to add the loop under the chins, you could still wear it as a pendant too, and use that loop to hold additional charms or pendants below, as if coming from the mouths of the snakes.

I love watch chain neck messes and using old Victorian parts to give them another 100 years of life. I haven't ever seen a fob like this before though, with the intricate gold "mesh" of tightly woven chains at center to give it the strap. Then the snake heads at the point extend with 18k gold linear links to form their slithery bodies on each side of the strap. So freaking cool!

French antique piece in 18k gold with a nice and sturdy hand feel of 13 grams of all solid 18k gold.  With French hallmarks for 18k on the sturdy chain links and dog clip. 

A great opportunity to make a one of a kind piece. It could probably be incorporated into a neckmess as well, I'll leave it to the buyers imagination to work with their local jeweler to create what they want.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Some of my buyers "draw out" an example to get an idea of scale in person.

Antique Boxes, props, hooks, chains, mice : ) not included. I just used a staging chain to show examples of how to wear but listing is for the snake watch fob alone.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It weighs 13 grams. It is 4.5 inches stretched end to end. The gold strap is 18.8mm wide.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

I can't believe with that intricate tiny mesh link there are no holes or punctures or breaks to any links. The piece really has no damage aside from some rippling to the overall form from having been worn as a watch fob. Completely stable, very sturdy, the intricate links just kinda took on their own shapes and forms over the last 150 years.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
