SPINNER Figural Flower Pearl Blue Paste Sapphire Antique Ring 18k Gold Victorian Moveable Face Unique One of a Kind

Back from my summer inventory trips to several countries / cities in Europe. I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

Upon first glance this ring looks like a pretty little figural flower ring. But upon closer inspection we discover that the ring face actually spins around!

Combination antique ring and fidget spinner! : ) For those of us who like to keep our hands busy.

I purchased this in Milan on a recent inventory trip. The jeweler I purchased it from informed me that the spinning part came from one of the "trembleuse" style brooches, where the brooch had whimsical moving parts. The jeweler removed the flower and the spinning base mechanism and affixed it to a gold band for wear as a ring. It's sweet the way it perches off the finger.

It's a fun little feature and I love finding antique jewelry with quirks. It's also nice that the flower doesn't spin freely to where it is annoying, rather the little swivel mechanism has some tension so the flower head only moves if you use your other hand to spin it. So it won't spin around on its own while wearing. Makes a great conversation piece!

At the center is a pearl set in a little buttercup setting. The petals are set with smaller pearls and blue paste stones meant to look like sapphires.

Antique boxes, props, mice, dishes ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Size 6 1/4. The band is 2.5mm north south 1.7mm deep
Flower is 14mm wide and the ring stands 7mm tall off the finger.
Piece weighs 3.8 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

See notes above as to its conversion. Functions well! Cute little wearable, one of a kind piece! But always recommend gentler wear on these old pieces with small stones. A bit of wear to the stones and pearls, under magnification, faint trace of adhesive probably extra securing some of the smaller stones.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
