ABOUT:
Another unique antique diamond solitaire ring with buttercup face - this one has little square rivet like details on each shoulder for an interesting design and texture. French piece from the Victorian era, it holds an old mine cut diamond - may have been an engagement ring but makes also a darling stacker.
Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold. The prongs have appear to have been reinforced - very tidily done so this one is ready for daily wear.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 1/2 a little over.
Weight: 12.5
Ring face north south measurement: 7.5mm
Height off the finger:4.8mm
The diamond is about 4.1mm by 3.7mm cushion cut.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Evidence of a sizing to the back. Typical antique diamond with a few flea bites to the girdle, nothing eye visible, the prongs kind of make the diamond look like it is really chewed up around the corners but that is not the case. I also noticed in the pics it appears a bit cloudy but that is just buildup behind the stone. I gave it a light cleaning but it could use a bit more time and gentle brushing.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
