STAR Bezel Gypsy Band 1/2 Carat Old Mine Cut DIAMOND Ring 18k Gold Starburst Stacker

Here is a fun stacker with a figural star bezel holding the old mine cut diamond which totals a little over half a carat. Found in Paris, France, this one has a buttery glow with the softly banded shoulders leading up to that excellent star detail. Fun to add sparkle and geometry to a ring stack!

As another fun quirk it has an old font letter "G" stamped on the back of the shank. I am not sure what this signifies. No gold hallmarks remain which is actually common for French pieces as they are marked in the back and often lost during a sizing or from wear. But sold to me from a reputable source in France where the standard is 18k and tested to confirm.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a snug size 5 3/4. It weighs a 6.6 grams. Ring face is 9.2mm north to south, and tapers towards the back bur reminds sturdy there as well at 3mm. The diamond is about 5mm and a little over half a carat. I would not remove it for an exact measurement.

CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamond with some faint natural inclusions, one silk and one crystal speck very slightly eye visible, seen mostly under strong magnification. Three prongs are worn back but it is held by three prongs that do have length. This is typical for age and could be reinforced for daily wear by your local jeweler if desired (you'd want to find someone with a laser welder and ask them to do the minimum possible vs. re-tipping every prong and unnecessarily over working the piece to make it "like new"). Most of my buyers prefer original condition and special occasion wear. Gorgeous glowing gold patina. Evidence of a sizing by the "G" stamp.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
