ABOUT:
Versatile figural star studs in 18k yellow gold. These have a flat back and rise off the ear for a wonderful look on the ear. Stack them up or wear them alone as a minimalist statement.
These have excellent patina and with the screw backs and signs of age, they are definitely older vintage if not into the antique period. French hallmarks for 18k on the posts (what you see in photos is not damage but the actual hallmark strike), and the screw backs also have the French 18k stamp and a goldsmith maker's mark.
Beautiful design that appears both vintage and also currently on trend.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
10mm wide. 3.2mm deep for just the "button fronts" not including the post. Combined weight is just 1.2g. Lightweight hand feel. They are hollow inside, fabricated like repousse work instead of having gold all the way through the center of the star, but all parts 18k real gold, not plated or gold fill and with no dings or dents and they are plenty sturdy, not flexible or tinny.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The points of the stars are sharp so I wouldn't wear 24/7. Not a condition problem, just how they are made but when handling it you can definitely feel those fine points on the finger so I wanted to mention it. Surface wear and excellent patina, sturdy screw backs, wouldn't be uncomfortable on the ear with the points, but just not sure about laying on them. : )
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
