ABOUT:
A fun and chunky vintage to Art Deco wide cigar band ring! This one with three striking star designs that combine cut outs and engraved details with a bezel set diamond raised at the center of each.

A fun and unique piece, great to stack with others. At least vintage to retro mid century - interesting to see that one of the diamonds is an old mine cut, and the others are brilliant cut, but the piece shows no signs of repair. So they all seem to be original to the piece. Perhaps it was a custom piece with a stone or combination of stones from another piece, or perhaps the jeweler just used what they had available to them at the time.

At 11mm wide, it is substantial enough to stand alone, but fun to layer for a figural pop as well.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 7 1/4 on the mandrel. It is a wide one and seems to fit a bit snugger, perhaps even a shade under a size 7. It's tough to say exactly as it makes contact with the finger over such a large surface area compared to sliding on a skinny band.

The diamonds are 3 to 3.1mm each.

The piece weighs 5.8 grams. The ring face is 11mm north south, tapering slightly towards the back but remaining quite wide all the way around.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is a faint seam of solder bubbles at the back. The gold hue is a perfect match so perhaps it was done in the fabrication unless it was sized there?
The center diamond is quite frosty with a smattering of carbon throughout. The other brilliant cut has a frosty area to one side. The old mine cut also has some faint natural inclusions but is the clearest of the three, but the old mine cut seems to be less "busy" when it comes to reflecting around the specks or frost because the more modern brilliant cuts reflect in a more fragmented way. They are small so nothing is very glaring.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
