ABOUT:
Nice and chunky French antique Art Deco era gypsy ring or wedding band with a 4.5mm older transitional cut diamond in a sturdy, rosy 18k gold shank. Thick and solid gold to the domed ring face with just a cutout behind the stone, the rest is solid gold so it is not hollowed out like many are to reduce weight, this is the more expensive fabrication : ) Substantial enough alone but also stacks well. Vibrant shine and polish to the warm and rosy old 18k gold, which is a different fabrication from the vibrant pink rose gold of today.
This is a Paris find with French hallmarks for 18k gold.
The gypsy ring was incredibly popular during the Victorian era into the early 1900s and its timeless design remains an ever favored and wearable choice for today. This ring is substantial enough to wear alone but also layers well with other pieces. Rings such as this were also a popular choice for men to wear during this period as well so it is a true unisex ring.
Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Ring is currently about a size 6 3/4. It weighs a sturdy 9.75 grams. Width of the face is 8.7mm north south and stands 5mm off the finger.
I can't get an accurate measurement on the stone without removing it which I would not do, but it is about 4.5mm or about .35 to .4 carat.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Some faint very light inclusions under strong magnification only But no dark specks or carbon inclusions. It is eye clean. Some Uniform surface wear but it looks like it was professionally polished so it has a highly mirrored finish now. Beautiful gold ring with very quality, sturdy hand feel. There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings.
But of course due to age - Please note this piece is not in mint condition.
