ABOUT:

A beautiful setting and a unique and sturdy ring - This five stone has alternating tall sugarloaf cabochon sapphires spaced between two old European cut diamonds. For added detail we have engravings on the north and south edges of the wide band as well as open work detailed shoulders.

It's a fun one to stack with extra drama from the side due to the tall domed sapphires but it has some imperfections to the stones so please check the condition notes closely.

This is a Paris find with French hallmarks for 18k gold.

Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:

Ring is currently about a size 6 1/2. It weighs a sturdy 5.65 grams. Width of the face is 8.8mm north south and stands 4.7mm off the finger with the center sugarloaf doming up and out.
I can't get an accurate measurement on the stones without removing them which I would not do, but each diamond is about 3.5mm or about .35 to .4 carat total weight in diamonds. The sapphires are each 3.5mm (end stones) and 4mm (center stone) north south.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The stones are unfortunately damaged. The center sugarloaf has a matte finish at the top from uniform, wear and surface abrasions due to the way that it crops so high off the finger. Still a beautiful color and glow from within but just not the sheen and polish it once had. The end stones have the same matte finish, and each has a chip. They still appear complete as an oval in the settings, but when you study the surface in a reflection from the side, you can see how the areas are uneven where the chips took place. One of the diamonds is cracked through with an area of what would be loss on one side, but the stone shards or piece of the diamond is still there and held in the setting. I do not see any adhesive or glue reside so I think it is just continuing to hold by tension, but it appears very frosty in that area, along with the rough and unevenness, and it has some warmth to the eye in that area as well. I'd have listed it for higher if not for these issues so it is being sold as is. It is still wearable and eager to be loved, the setting is interesting and beautiful and will remain for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) The other diamond is eye clean and in good condition with no damage.

So of course due to age and wear on this piece - Please note this piece is not in mint condition.

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
