ABOUT:
The Cygnet Signet! The joke is not mine, but a clever customer's, who pointed out to me that cygnet (same pronunciation as the ring) is a baby swan, and of course being reminded of that recalls its origin from the French word "cygne" for swan (but spoken in a posh French accent of course).
So here we have an antique French Cygne Cygnet Signet. : )
Great graphics on this one - Sturdy French Victorian antique signet ring with legible shield shaped face with striped texture, three stars at the top and a figural swan below.
Throughout time, the swan has signified many things: loyalty, strength, grace, purity, beauty, transformation, love and fidelity, and even as a luxury status symbol when it was used by the aristocracy.
This one has that perfect amount of antique wear and patina with a soft buttery glow and some rosy highlights from age to the alloys that us antique jewelry addicts just love!

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 3/4, ring face is 14mm north south, weight 7.1 grams so a nice sturdy hand feel.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
