ABOUT:
How pretty is this diamond swirl band!? I could see this as an alternative engagement ring with how beautifully it stacks next to a gold band. Wonderful movement and sparkle to this five stone old mine cut diamond band. Extra ornate with sturdy prongs ready for regular wear. Layers well with other pieces for a nice form and glitter. Beautiful buttery gold shank.
Just so many beautiful details with the flared shoulders too. The curved form allows it to take up a bit more real estate on the finger in an interesting way. It stacks beautifully next to other diamond or colored stone bands, as well plain gold or textured bands, and even adds interest to a multi ring stack. Pretty unique and so ornate!
An old 18k stamp in the shank for 18k gold.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 3/4
The ring face is 6.3mm north to south from end to end of the curve. Weighs 2.9g. The center stones are 3 to 3.5mm each and the end two are slightly smaller, about 2.5mm each. I would not remove the stones for exact measurements but estimates to around 0.6 carat total weight in diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique stones with natural inclusions mostly in the form of a frosty speck here or there. Some of the diamonds are eye clean and there are no dark carbon spots or anything glaring. Two worn prongs but all the rest are very well surrounding each of the stones so this one could actually handle regular wear. Sturdy shank too.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
