I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one piece at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
Personal collection release! I love table cut diamonds and here we have them displayed in the sought after five stone setting. Amazing history in the long journey of diamond cutting, this Georgian piece is special with age of over 200 years, with the table cut diamonds being possibly even older.

And with an OPEN BACK! This antique piece was correctly fabricated for the time with original foil backing in a closed collet setting, but due to age, the foil was rusty, brown and black making the diamonds dark and dingy so in this case, I asked my jeweler to open the back to let the light shine through. This also makes it easier to wear in that the ring can get wet.

The diamonds are set in silver collets, the back of the ring face is layered with gold to prevent tarnish on the finger. 18k rosy gold shank (tested, no hallmarks remain which is common for these older pieces).

The ring dates to the Georgian period - early 1800s, with the diamonds being likely earlier, from the 1700s. The table cut diamonds are one of the earlier methods of diamond cutting and are quite collectible.

Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
Currently measures a size 8 1/4 on the mandrel, a little over. Weighs 2.2 Grams.

Ring face is 6.1mm north to south on the finger and end diamond to end diamond is 18mm wide east to west.

Exact depth and thereby carat weight is unknown as I would never remove them from the setting. They widen out an unknown amount in the collet setting which wraps up and around the edges of the stone.
Here are the visible measurements of the diamonds in the settings:
There are three at about 4x3.3mm, then a pair at about 3.2mm one more squarish.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

There is some solder inside the ring shoulders. Patina to the silver ring face. Some wear and unevenness to the silver settings but we have to consider this ring is over 200 years old.

The diamonds have variances, one reading a warm to peachy champagne color. The center stone also has that champagne warmth but on a lighter scale. Center stone has some carbon that is eye visible. One end stone is frosty with natural inclusions. One is eye clean and one has some frosty specks very slightly eye visible. Some nibbles but most of what is seen are frosty unpolished areas due to the primitive manner of cutting by hand these old stones. A special piece with a fabulous antique look. Table cuts by defininition have less faceting so they appear somewhat transparent with a more subtle sparkle as they were made before electricity was invented and were best viewed by candlelight and firesides.

Excellent to find a piece of this age in ready to wear condition.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
