ABOUT:

A unique and interesting navette ring with lots of chunky diamonds and cobblestone texture. This one has a unique demi bezel setting where the outline of the ring face is surrounded in white gold. It gives the ring face a very interesting shape as the gold traces around each of the diamonds. It's quite an impactful cluster with the 2.3 carats of old mine cut diamonds twinkling up at the beholder.

French vintage piece crafted in 18k white gold. It could possibly be Art Deco period but with the tall linear gallery, we usually see that design more on mid century and retro pieces, so I'm not exactly sure how old it is. It's possible the old cut diamonds were sourced from another heirloom piece and re-set later.

The 2.3 carats of diamonds are set with multiple bead prongs on the interior of the ring, which adds a great texture to the cobblestone design. There are even two smaller old single cut diamond spacers to give the ring face a completely encrusted sparkle.

French hallmark for 18k gold.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 5 3/4.
Thirteen of the diamonds are around 3.5mm each give or take, some up to 3.7mm and some 3.2mm. The two smaller diamond spacers are 1.7mm each. I would never remove them from the antique setting for exact measurements but estimates to around 1.75 carat total weight in diamonds. I would never remove them from the antique setting for exact measurements but estimates to around 2.3 carat total weight in diamonds.

The ring face is 25x12mm.
Weight is 5grams.
Height is 6.8mm tall off the finger to the raised diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Prongs are in good shape making this one ready of regular wear. Two of the diamonds are chipped to one top edge with shallow flakes of loss, leaving a frosty unpolished area. This does not affect the shape of the stones. Overall, they still appear full and round and fill the setting. However, the frosty spot from the flakes of loss is I visible on the surface of those two stones if you are seeking it out.

As is typical for antique diamonds hand cut long before the Four C's was invented for machine cut diamonds and their mathematically perfect facets, these have smaller inclusions, a speck here or there, very slightly eye visible (but not to my eyes which are in their forties! : ). No dark carbon spots, no overall frostiness so nothing glaring. Many of the stones are eye clean. Also typical they have a slight warmth here or there but again nothing glaring and are overall well matching.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
