ABOUT:
Once I was driving with one of my three brothers as adults and a little rabbit scurried across the road. I turned to him and asked, "If mom were here right now, what would she say?"
He paused a moment and then answered me: "Umm... the little bun bun?" Of course he was exactly right.
So that is what I always think of when I see this cutie patootie - the little bun bun! My mom's happy sing song voice and the fact that even as adults we have those childhood memories that align. I'm pretty sure she still responds the same to this day when she sees one, I'll have to pay attention the next time we are together. We are taking a sourcing trip together to Europe soon!
This one came from a broken brooch - crafted in platinum and backed in 18k gold. The added loops are in 14k. From the early 1900s Edwardian to Art Deco period. He is set with 18 little rose cut diamonds amidst a bead prong and detailed platinum finish to give the front of the piece all over texture with a glint of sparkle.
We usually see these topped in silver so this one is nice and bright comparatively. He is somewhat 3D in that his back ear is finished and part of the back side of his face. My sweet little bun bun. This was super popular in previews, I got at least 20 notes about him. : )
No hallmarks remain as it was stamped on the pin parts. The loops are 14k yellow gold and a good match to the back.
Chain in photos is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
13mm to the attached loop, not including the dangling jump ring, by 13mm wide by 4.1mm deep. It weighs 2.3 grams. Please note the small jump ring, I had to use a hook for staging it because a dog clip was too large.
The diamonds are small, about 1.5mm each.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some warm hues and faint natural inclusions. A few appearing a bit frosty. They tend to always look this way. Nothing glaring as they are small, they provide a wonderful antique sparkle.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
