THIEF Antique VICTORIAN Pearl Encrusted Pin Brooch Figural 14k Gold Pendant Charm Holder Extender Parts Romantic "of my Heart?" Gift Figural

Now this one, I really wish I knew its story! Certainly haven't seen one like it before - an antique Victorian brooch that spells "Thief". Most likely a one of one piece  

The story I am going with is that it was a playful romantic gift, given from one person to another to inform them that they are the "Thief of my heart." It's quite wonderful as the pearls are so tidily set within the ornate font. And since it is a brooch, it has been lightly worn and is in excellent condition.

Talk about an interesting conversation piece to wear! No hallmarks remain but tests at 14k in several places except the pin post which is rosier and tests at 10k gold, perhaps intending to use a harder alloy for the pin post?

This would be awesome with the pin parts removed and converted to a pendant with loops on each side.

Besides wearing it as a brooch, I’ve also seen these incorporated into neck stacks as extenders and even charm holders as seen in photos where I used one of my chains with dog clips to hook to each end. (Chain and other items are not included, listing is for pin alone). Note that it can teeter on the decollette though with the way the pin back extrudes so I will leave it to the buyer to determine if / how they want to alter and style the piece.

Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

MEASUREMENTS:
The piece measures 25x7mm and weighs 1.7 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Still perfectly wearable. The pin back has tension in its hinge. The piece and the pearls have patina from age but I don't see a lot of buildup or adhesive as we often see. It's a fun one!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
