I am back from my inventory trips to Europe and listing an assortment of hand picked antique jewelry which I have selected one at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

For all the tank ring lovers out there, here is a fun one with an interesting geometry and fabrication.
This three stone ring has three old mine cut diamonds totaling about 1.75 carat, set in prongs, nested between two bands that are squared in shape at the ring face. Looking at it closely, it appears to have a been a two piece set originally, a three stone band with a double band wrapping it. It is permanently connected with solder now but it gives the piece such sleek lines and a unique appearance on the hand.

Additional rose cuts accent each shoulder of the three stone. And the north and south edge bands have a nice flatness for excellent layering. It looks great in a ring stack!

We found this one in Prague on our recent sourcing trip. No hallmarks remain but - These come with a certificate from the assay office in the Czech Republic where the metal was tested and verified to 585 (14k gold) and platinum. We often see these numerical hallmarks on European pieces where a three digit number is used to represent the parts per thousand of gold (14k being 585, etc.). The certificate is typed in Czech but I use google translate and the numerical details are clear as well. Fun to have the provenance with the piece as to where it came from.

Antique boxes, props, staircases and bannisters ; ) not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

MEASUREMENTS:
A snug size 6.
It weighs 5.3 grams.

Ring face 8mm north south and 4.4mm tall off the finger.

Exact depths of the diamonds and thereby exact carat weight is unknown / approximate but using estimates it is around 1.75 carat in diamonds. The largest center OMC is 6mm measuring about .85 carat alone. The adjacent OMCs measuring 4.8mm and about .45 carat each.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Typical antique diamonds with faint natural inclusions and slightly warm hues but they face up bright and do not read warm or yellow while wearing. The center stone is eye clean with a few speck inclusions seen under magnification. One of the side stones has a crystal formation that carries up to the surface leaving a few tiny indented natural inclusions. The other side stone has a sort of spiky crystal formation in one corner. These are slightly eye visible but not super glaring and there are no carbon spots. I noticed after photographing it, I should have given it a better cleaning (I had been wearing it a lot : ) so some of what is seen is not the diamond, see the first two zoom photos in the listing for an accurate representation as it is cleaned up better there.

The rose cuts are also typical for antique rough, hand cut stones with some frosty spots, irregular edges and facets, some nicks and wear. They provide a nice and "crusty" untamed sparkle to serve as the backdrop to the old mine cuts.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my shop. Thanks for stopping by!
