ABOUT:
A cheerful Georgian era pendant with such pretty coloring! This piece is crafted with the "vinegar and oil" technique where the stone's color is affected by the tinted foil in the background of the domed back collet setting.
And such a pretty color it is! Almost like a rich, watermelon pink hue that reflects around the clear / white / colorless topaz. Unique coloring and light reflectivity to this one. I got it in France as a salvaged piece had loops added to confirm to a pendant. I'm not sure what it was originally, maybe a pin? Makes a great pendant or bracelet charm.
The Georgian period really showcased and adored vibrant colors in jewelry. This one is juicy!
No hallmarks remain, tests at 18k which is the standard there.
Any chains / props not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
It weighs 1.1 grams. 15mm including the attached loop by 7.5mm and 5mm deep with the domed back.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A natural inclusion within that can catch the light. Some age as expected to the foil back with a light brown spot on the left side. Some discoloration and dings to the back. Sturdy and wearable considering age of 200 years.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
