ABOUT:
These have been quite popular in the social media previews - Vintage to Art Deco diamond studs. The elegant bezel settings are the perfect holder to highlight the nice sized transitional cut diamonds which have deep pavilions. They measure around .7 carat each for a total carat weight of 1.4 carats for the pair. These are nice and fiery stones as well, one being completely eye clean and the other with one slightly visible inclusion that is nested right against the bezel. Set in 14k white gold, the backs are firm and reliable screw backs which function perfectly. The bezel setting almost serves as an illusion setting, making the 5.5mm diamonds appear larger with the white gold surround making the earrings 6.3mm in diameter in the settings.
Would be a beautiful something old for a bride.
The screw backs are hallmarked for 14k gold with a maker's stamp.
Comes as pictured in the antique box with the blue interior. I believe it may have been an old button box but the pop of color behind the bright and sparkly stones is beautiful. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Each stone is about 5.5mm and about .7 carat for a combined weight of 1.4ctw for the pair. They weigh 1.4 grams combined. The back of the bezel setting measuring up to holding the diamonds stands 4.5mm off the earlobe. The stones in their settings are 6.3mm in diameter, giving the stones a larger appearance with the white gold surround.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
As with all my pieces these are in estate condition but really no damage to report. The diamonds are excellent with no nicks, chips or frosty flakes. One is completely eyes clean and the other has one frosty / icy inclusion near the bezel. They have a lovely bright white color and an excellent fire. The screw backs are sturdy and the bezels are in good shape so for an older pair of earrings these are better than most. The gold is beautiful and it is a very sweet pair.
