ABOUT:

We love geometry in our jewelry especially when it comes with stackability and this piece offers both. This wide band props up the 1 carat worth of old cut diamonds in a curved rectangular platform with flat north south edges perfect for layering with other pieces.

This design could be considered unisex and it really adds interest to a ring stack. Thick and sturdy all the way around. At the center is the largest transitional cut diamond and then it has 4 old mine cut diamonds on each side to create the nine stone sparkle amidst the beaded textured ring face.

Stamped 750 which is the numerical hallmark used in Europe for 18k gold and also has a goldsmith stamp.

Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size 8 1/2.
8mm north south by 3mm tall off the finger. The platform face is 20mm wide.
The piece weighs a sturdy 7.55grams.
The center diamond is a 5mm cushion cut measuring about .45 carat alone. The eight other diamonds consist of 3 at 2.3mm and five at 2.7mm. I do not remove stones from their settings for exact measurements and depths vary but estimates to around one carat total weight in diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

The stones have a nice clarity, most being eye clean with a frosty spot here or there under magnification. You'll notice they tend to read gray. Some of this is typical for antique diamonds, to have warmer hues and to also reflect the light differently, the old mine cuts especially with their lesser and larger facets and culets in the center. Some of this also seems to be contributed to by the setting, the way the stones are sunk into the gold face so no light passes through the pavilions compared to a prong set. It has a nice moody vibe and chunky sparkle but do look for that in photos because they do tend to read gray. Especially in ambient light, while it brightens up a bit more in the sun. I have additional photos on my website in case that helps, to compare it to other pieces in a stack.

Super sturdy piece.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
