ABOUT:
Look at the gorgeous detailing on this antique "cinquillo!" (I just learned this new to me Spanish word when I was speaking Spanish with jewelers in Madrid and I'm excited about it - translating to "five stone ring". Which totally makes sense combining cinco and anillo - five and ring... gah what a beautiful language! And there is your lesson today from your fave former Spanish teacher turned antique jewelry slinger ; )

I didn't even have a chance to preview this one but wow do I love it. Five stone rings are always among my most popular category in the shop, but it's rare to find one with such exquisite detailing. The five old mine cut diamonds graduate just slightly in size and total a little over half a carat, held in super sturdy prongs, but look at the gorgeous scalloped details. They circle the stones but then continue in the same spirit to the ring shoulders which have a sort of braided and ball rivet detail. Just lovely design elements when we often find five stones with just flat bands.

The diamonds aren't huge but the setting is uncommonly sturdy and lovely - ready for daily wear!

Crafted in 18k gold but with no hallmarks (both of which I found to be the norm in various cities in Spain where I have sourced.)

Antique box is not included.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

Size: 6 3/4
6.6mm north south and 3.8mm tall off the finger.
Weight: 4.25g.
The largest center diamond is 3.8mm (about .23 carat) the flanking stones are 3mm and the end stones are 2.3mm each. I would not remove them for exact measurements but estimates to a little over half a carat total weight in diamonds.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

Sturdy piece, antique condition but better than most with the chunky prongs. The three largest center stones are eye clean, the smallest end stones are quite frosty throughout from natural inclusions. One of the smallest end stones has a frosty shard of loss to the outside crown facet but it tucks against the prong so this is not super noticeable as the stone still fills the space well, the frostiness is eye visible but they all still have a nice sparkle.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
