It's that time of year again for Mouse to clean out her house! So I'll be bringing you some releases from my personal collection this week including this one!
This is one of the first chains I ever kept for myself. We often wish we could keep everything but typically I favor rings for my PC. But when I saw the swoop shape of these fun links with the double screw bolt dog clip ends, I just had to wear it awhile!
Fabulous length for layering, and certainly uncommon to see the figural links, I haven't seen another like it. Each link is sort of 3D with a bit of depth to it. With the screw bolt dog clips on each end, it is easy to connect to an extender, or a pendant with double loops or to tie in with other chains. I wore it all those ways but most often just as a short chain layered with other pieces to add that wonderful design. Assumedly this was originally a watch chain.
And wow does she glow. This one reads yellow gold. French hallmarks for 18k on both dog clips.

MEASUREMENTS:
Chain links are 25mm by 6.5mm and 1.6mm deep.
A little over 16 1/2 inches in length. The piece weighs 10.6 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. The links were made like a repousse fabrication with vacant space in the middle so it is not super heavy, this is a pretty common fabrication for the period. Because of this there are a few pin head dings, shallow impressions, a ripple here or there. There are also a few pinhead holes at some corners from wear over 150 years but the piece is stable and not actually overly fragile. It's just one that would suffer if it were crunched but with normal wear around the neck there should be no issues.
It can get a little bit hung up on itself when the links seem to catch sideways but that is not a condition issue, it is just how it was made - many fancy link chains act in this way and it does not occur once it is draped around the neck.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
