ABOUT:
Of all the ring requests I receive, the diamond cluster is the one in highest demand.
I love this one for its antique period hallmark. Glittering old mine cut diamonds propped up on a sleek and glowing rosy gold band.
A classic Victorian era cluster ring. This one bears the antique hallmark used in France for 18k gold primarily in the 1800s, it was discontinued by the early 1900s. The prongs are topped in platinum as was customary for the period to set diamonds in a white metal.
Sweet footprint with nine old mine cut diamonds totaling around 1 carat total weight. Amazing glitter factor with lovely patina to the antique gold with its rosy hue.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Antique box is not included.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size: 6 1/2
The center diamond is about 4mm. The eight outlining diamonds are about 2.7mm each give or take. I do not remove the stones from the setting for exact carat weight but estimates to just under 1 carat total weight in diamonds.
Ring face: 10mm diameter
Height off finger: 6.2mm tall.
Weight: 2.9g.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some faint frosty inclusions, one or two stones appear quite frosty all the way through, everything else is just a very slightly visible speck here or there. They are not huge stones so it is not glaring. Three stones have frosty flakes of loss leaving a small unpolished area, again not very eye visible as all the stones appear complete in form and shape and fill the bezel spaces.
A few worn prongs as expected for age. The largest antique center stone is extra sturdy, set with long prongs on all sides. It is the smaller stones that show wear to the outlining prongs. I always recommend gentler wear on these 125+ year old pieces with multiple stones in all original condition.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
I enjoy making my customers happy and matching unique pieces with new homes. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! It means a lot to me that you are visiting my shop! : )
