ABOUT:
Versatile five stone antique stacker band with 5 old cut diamonds totaling about 2/3 carat, set in glowing and buttery 18k gold. The stones are set in prongs so they almost float suspended in the buttercup / belcher setting to really catch the light. A beauty that glitters alone or can be layered with other pieces. And the diamonds have a nice bright color comparatively to many antique stones.
Found in England with Antique stamp for 18k gold, it reads 18C and was double struck.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1.4. The center diamond is about 3.3mm. The flanking diamonds are a little over 3mm each and the end stones are 2.5mm. It is 5.3mm north to south on the finger and stands 3.5mm tall off the finger. It weighs 3.1 grams. Estimated total carat weight of around .65 carat, I would not remove the stones for exact measurements.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds with some faint natural inclusions seen mostly under magnification. And only very slightly eye visible if at all (not to my eyes which are in their 40s! : ) and some are eye clean. Some nibbles under magnification to the girdles of three of the stones and a few small creases from inclusions carrying up to the surface. One shallow frosty flake of loss very small and not eye visible. No dark carbon spots. A worn prong here or there to keep an eye on over time but all stones are held very securely. There are solder bubbles at each shoulder. The piece does not appear to have been reshanked or sized there so it must have occurred during fabrication.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any glaring issues above and they are all still wearable.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
