ABOUT:
We love our versatile five stone diamond bands! This cutie holds five mostly eye clean old mine cut diamonds in a line. They graduate slightly in size. Makes a sweet little sparkly stacker.
Found in the UK, It is stamped with their hallmarks for 18k gold, Birmingham and their old date stamp that I can't quite make out but looks to be one of the 1800s font versions.
The prongs were reinforced on the north south edges of each of the larger diamonds prior to me receiving it so this one is ready for regular wear.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Feel free to check my website or request more photos or video as I have many besides those allowed here.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
A snug Size 6. Weight is 2.2 grams. The ring face is 4.3mm north south and 3.8mm off the finger to the center diamond..
The center diamond is 3.8mm, then 3.2 & 3.5mm and the end stones are 2.9mm each.
I would not remove them for exact carat weight but estimates to around 0.8 carat total weight in diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Nice to find such an old beauty in ready to wear condition.
Most of the diamonds are eye clean with just a faint frosty speck here or there, nothing eye visible. Slightly varying hues but lively and bright stones with a bright white color, just one end stone leans a slight bit gray, some of it being the angle at which it is viewed curving outwards at the end and looking through the chunky old cut facets which affects how it reflects the light vs. facing up.
The prongs are a bit edgy when you run your finger across them but this is how it was made and a result of wear and the reinforcements. It was sized in the past.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
