ABOUT:
Anyone who buys this will be twinning with me because I kept one for myself!
I had a little handful of these Victorian antique diamond dangle pendants that I acquired in a grouping, these came from a broken necklace that had a chain with little diamond dangles creating a fringe, but as it was incomplete these dangles were removed.
I took my last pair and made a pair of earrings with later 14k gold ear wires. They make cut little danglers!
These could also serve as a two for one as they easily come off the ear wires if you wanted to put one on a chain for wear as a pendant some days, and earrings on other days.
The dangling pieces are in 18k gold with a rose cut diamond in a square diamond shaped closed back bezel leading down to an old mine cut diamond that is held in prongs in a sweet little scalloped buttercup setting. These were then added to the ear wires.
A lovely minimalist pair of earrings with linear geometry. I have a dainty little pendant as well if a matching set is desired.
Found in France but no hallmarks remain as it was marked on the larger piece it was part of. Sold to me as 18k gold from a reputable dealer and tested to confirm. I added the 14k ear wires.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Chain / props, etc. not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
34mm top to bottom the dangle part is 18mm.
Very dainty
Weight: combined of both earrings is just 1 gram.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Dainty little prongs but the diamond is well surrounded and held, it does not move. I just typically recommend gentler wear for all my antique pieces due to age. The rose cut appears warm from age to the foil back. The larger old mine cut diamond is typical for the period with some natural inclusions, slightly eye visible specks and frosty spots. No dark carbon spots but you can detect the frostiness if you are looking for it, the stones are small though. It has a nice color and sparkle.
Some patina to the gold from age that we seek out as it cannot be found on modern pieces. Note that the bale is on the smaller side.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
