ABOUT:
Another versatile five stone diamond band holding five old mine cut diamonds in a line. They graduate slightly in size and total about 1.2 carat in diamonds. Nice finger coverage and sparkle and a nice bright white color. This one reads whiter than many from the period that tend to display a bit of warmth to the old cut stones.
Found in the UK, it has the London hallmarks for 18k gold, date mark 1894.
The prongs are in great shape so this one is ready for regular wear. I love the ornate scrolled shoulders. A classic Victorian antique.
Antique box is not included. Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures. Feel free to check my website or request more photos or video as I have many besides those allowed here.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/2. Weight is 3.6 grams. The ring face is 6.5mm north south and 3.5mm off the finger to the center diamond..
The center diamond is 4.9mm, then 4.1 & 4mm and the end stones are 2.8mm each.
I would not remove them for exact carat weight but estimates to around 1.2 carat total weight in diamonds.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Nice to find such an old beauty in ready to wear condition.
Two of the diamonds have a bit of a translucent cloud inclusion to them but it is mostly seen under magnification. Still it was priced with this in mine compared to if they were crystal clear. Some frosty specks and some linear crystal inclusions but nothing glaring. No dark or inky spots. One worn back prong so I'd keep an eye on that stone second from the end but all the stones are still well surrounded with no movement.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
