ABOUT: A glowing, shimmering, fun and fabulous necklace. I just love the coloring on this piece. It almost serves as a toi et moi with two stones representing the two parts of a couple, set into the heart shape.
The pendant is set with a fancy light yellow pear diamond nestled into the bezel next to a pear emerald. Crafted in 18k gold, the dainty chain shimmers and sparkles when it catches the light.
I usually go for old cuts but I just loved the shape and coloring of this piece and envisioned it as a pop of color and shape in a neckmess or a daintier statement on its own. I love diamonds with hues and the pale yellow color of this one is gorgeous. I also like how the pendant is permanently fixed to the chain - it wears beautifully and has two length options.
What I thought was a serial number at the back of the heart is actually the hallmarks - it states K18 for 18k gold and states the carat weight of both the diamond and emerald (as below). The spring ring and loop are also stamped for 18k gold.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
The necklace weighs 1.75 grams of 18k gold.
The chain has an additional loop with the option to wear it at 16 inches in length or 14.5 inches.
I was told when I bought it that the emerald is .33 carat and the diamond is .34 carat - fancy light yellow and VS in clarity.
The heart is 8mm north south.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
No real damage, Nothing glaring while wearing. The only thing to really note is that it is a typical emerald with natural inclusions like an icy streak through the center. It carries up to the surface at the back of the stone but not on the top side so the stone is stable and well held. It is not cracked so anything you see are natural inclusions within the stone.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
