I take regularly scheduled inventory trips around Europe and the USA to hand pick items one at a time to offer in my shop. Some examples seen in the group photo. Thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
Chunky vintage green emerald full eternity skinny band. Excellent green color flanked by the glowing 18k gold that the stones are channel set into. It's a sturdy piece. Would be fun to nest above and below another diamond or gold band for a pop of color in a fabulous stack.
The piece contains 14 stones, rectangular in shape and set east west. Exact carat weight is unknown as I would not remove them but just using estimates by millimeter it is around 2.25 carats.
Found in France. No hallmarks that I could find but sold to me as 18k which is the standard in France and tested to confirm.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 4 3/4.
5mm north south by 2.8mm tall off the finger.
The piece weighs 5.4 grams with a sturdy hand feel.
Each of the emeralds is about 4.5x3.2mm rectangular, give or take just measuring the visible portions, estimates to around 2.25 carats just using loose mm to carat conversions.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
This one was worn and loved and being sold as is, priced accordingly compared to many on the market that are quite a bit skinnier with less quantity and lower carat gold. It's a sturdy piece with a nice quality hand feel but as we often see with eternity rings, there is wear to the stones as they spin on the finger and the stones come in contact with surfaces often on the palm side of the hand.
The emeralds actually have a really nice color and clarity, but most all the surfaces are worn. One stone is cracked but both sides are still held firmly in place by the channel setting. One has a chip to one corner and one has a chip to one corner and several abrasions along one long edge so it moves slightly in the setting. That is the only stone that moves - It does not come free, it's just that the wear to the edge keeps it from being held as snugly as the others in the channel setting. Most all of the crown facets have a matte finish from surface wear so it doesn't have the sheen and polish it had originally. So this is not the ring for people who like their vintage jewelry to appear like new.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lighting conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
