I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world, including several stackable bands.
ABOUT:
Bright and fiery vintage diamond solitaire ring with a natural transitional cut diamond measuring about .67 carat.
I love this setting - they took the round old cut stone and set it into a square shaped ring face with little bead prongs in each corner to add texture and lovely design element.
The ring head rises up from the knife edge shank and tapered shoulders. Another added perk of this setting is that they made the diamond appear larger by surrounding it in a white metal, so in the setting, the ring head reads closer to a carat until you really study where the diamond ends and the setting begins.
A classic look with an interesting design and for an old cut this one has a very noticeably white color.
Found on the east coast, it is stamped 14k inside.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos, especially with the zoomed images that I am required to present for detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 1/4.
Weighs 2.7 grams.
The diamond is about 5.6mm and the ring head is 6.6mm square. It stands 6.4mm tall off the finger.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A very white near colorless diamond with a wonderful fire and no detectible warmth. Typical for the period though it has a formation of pinpoint inclusions including tiny carbon specks right at the center. The carbon is not eye visible and the inclusion as a whole is only very slightly eye visible because it is more like a shadow or small cloud than anything glaring. There is one eye visible inclusion extending in a line to the outside edge that is frosty. It faces up thinner and becomes more visible when the ring is turned to the side. Again it is not glaring but you can see the frosty line when you are seeking it out. Estimated SI in clarity.
The prongs have some wear so the diamond can move slightly. This is expected for age. No damage to the diamond but for daily wear we'd probably consider fortification. Many of my buyers are collectors wearing pieces in a rotation which this one is suitable for as is but for 24/7 it could use a few beads by a laser welder so it is priced accordingly.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
